Casting : Tarab

Tarab is a physical and participatory experience and a party, open to all audiences, immersing the public in the contemporary musical and poetic culture of the Levant. At the invitation of Compagnie Shonen, musician Rayess Bek, along with dancers and choreographers from the Levantine diaspora drive a collective dance in which the audience is invited to take part.

We are looking for professional dancers with strong experience in the dance culture of the Levant to join our team in the project Tarab. 

Desired profile

• Proficiency in folkloric dance from the Levant : we are particularly interested in Dabke, but it is not mandatory.

• Experience in contemporary dance (release technique, contact dance, floor work).

• Comfortable dancing in a group and participating in collaborative projects (experience in leading pedagogical workshops is a plus).

• Comfortable interacting with people — not just dancers.

• Ability to use voice (singing skills are a plus).

• Enjoys generating gestures, steps, and movements during creative and collective processes.
